In making this year’s Christmas donation of EUR 1,000, we would like to face the future with positivity and support the “Haus der kleinen Forscher” (Little Scientists’ Foundation).
This non-profit foundation is committed to early years education in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) – with the aim of equipping children for the future and enabling them to act sustainably. The foundation is extremely active in Dresden and elsewhere, providing educationalists and teachers in kindergartens, after-school care centres and primary schools with STEM courses based on state-specific curricula.
This gives girls and boys an opportunity to discover their own talent and potential in STEM fields, even at a very early age. As a result, the education initiative lays the foundations for an approach to technological and social changes that supports sustainable development. After all, mathematical and technical skills are becoming ever more important in the digital age.
HIGHVOLT has been involved in STEM education for many years, both in the form of taster days for schoolchildren and of taking on trainees, students on work placements and graduates. This donation will be the first time that the company has supported such young children – as even the very youngest have an innate enjoyment of and curiosity about science and technology.
